Today we highlight the Special Education Department and their 2023 events! They welcomed Hmong culture through music and dance, celebrated Black History Month with the King Elementary African American Dance Troupe, and Bricks for Kidz even returned for a second time this March!

The Occupational Therapist will provide services to
identified students; provide assessment and consultation to school personnel
and families to identify strategies, methods and patterns to ensure students have
access to high quality learning options and activities.

The Restorative Practices Department takes the spotlight today with its "Be You! clubs." This club specializes in engaging students with activities that they have an interest in & gives them fun and creative chances to explore the things that make them uniquely themselves!

Check out the ATP-FCC (Adult Transition Program - Fresno City College) program created to provide an inclusive and quality college learning experience for FUSD adults with special needs. All classes are designed to develop student independence, communication, and self-advocacy!

Storey Elementary takes the spotlight with its Garden Club! In this club, students learn the whole process that is needed to successfully grow plants, and then they get to actually plant themselves! 🌱 The end result is shrubs that will bloom and attract bees and butterflies.πŸπŸ¦‹

Read Across America was a huge success!πŸ“š Trustees Valerie Davis, Veva Islas SaΓΊl, and Andrew Levine all visited elementary schools across our district to read to our students. It was a fun and fulfilling week for everyone to spread the joy of reading and literature!

Operational services want to highlight their bus rodeo team who will be traveling to compete in a bus rodeo! Welding students at Duncan Polytechnical High School are constructing wrought iron practice barriers that mimic the ones used in competitions to help them get their win!πŸ‘πŸ½
